Ilham Abbas is an entrepreneur focused on cutting-edge, high-quality, innovative, and exciting projects. Her main focus is on setting up projects and businesses in Media, Fashion & Beauty, Luxury, Events, and Online Retail. She is the Founder, President, & CEO of Ilhaam Group, which designs and develops high-quality brands, produces ideal platforms to showcase them, and creates opportunities to support the Fashion, Luxury, & Lifestyle industries’ growth.

Before starting out on her own, Ilham spearheaded the development of concepts for three industries under the aegis of TECOM Investments: luxury, fashion, and beauty. She also proved her mettle at TECOM Investments as Executive Director of Marketing & Corporate Affairs. She enhanced her marketing management, quality assurance, people, and commercial skills with her involvement in the following five industries: Media, Information Communications Technology, Education, Biotechnology, and Renewable Energy. This involvement encompassed prestigious free-zone brands such as Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Knowledge Village, International Media Production Zone, Dubai Studio City, Dubai Outsource Zone, Dubai International Academic City, Dubiotech, and Enpark.

Before joining TECOM, Ilham was in charge of the Dubai Media Incorporated “Al Bayan” fashion projects. She was Corporate Communications Director for the Dubai Shopping Festival and Dubai Summer Surprises between 2001 and 2003. At the forefront of tourism and retail in Dubai, her main objectives were to promote the country locally, regionally, and globally as an ideal family destination in coordination with Emirates Airlines and Dubai Tourism & Commerce Marketing. She simultaneously held the posts of Project Director of the Dubai Shopping Festival Journalism Award, Ideal Arab Mother and Family Awards, Dubai Fashion, Innovation Awards 2003, and Media Relations Team Leader for Dubai 2003 IMF and World Bank Meetings.

Her vast industrial experience extends beyond her work accomplishments. In 2003 she created “Dubai Fashion,” a six-day haute couture clothing and jewelry event for the Dubai Shopping Festival. She worked closely with Swarovski Middle East to set up Trends 2000. She was also the first Emirati to write a fashion column for local media during her tenure at Al Bayan Magazine Publications.

Ilham was one of a select group of high-potential leaders within Dubai Holding who underwent world-class leadership development over a two-year period that ended in June 2009. She also holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Marketing and Fashion Design from the American University in Dubai. She has represented the fashion industry at several regional and international events, was twice nominated for Project Runway (the leading program for selecting designers), and has served as its only Emirati judge among international designers.

In 2003 the Gulf Marketing Review's “Top 10 to Watch” named Ilham Abbas one of the Middle East’s most successful female professionals.
